Square-shaped Round
This is really a round chute with a square shape rather than a RAM air design. It does not have a central vent but rather one on each corner. It’s a very efficient DIY parachute with a great descent rate and small packsize. It’s a great option for rescue parachutes or emergency drone recovery.
Hanging it from the centre point or crown tends to leave a lot of fabric flapping as the outer lines sag more the the middle ones. It’s easy to get tangled so is best suited to roles where it is packed in a deployment bag, rather than balloon rescue or parachuting teddies.
It is made up entirely of straight edges and 90 degree corners so very easy to plan, cut and stitch.
